From a Single Scaffold to a Continental Footprint

Kwena Scaffold was founded on a simple yet powerful idea: to raise the standard of industrial scaffolding and access solutions in South Africa by putting safety, quality, and people at the heart of every project.

What began as a focused scaffolding service provider has grown into a multi-disciplinary, trusted partner for scaffolding, industrial painting, and thermal insulation, serving clients across mining, processing, and construction sectors both locally and beyond South Africa’s borders.

Our journey has been one of continuous learning, technical growth, and operational discipline. We’ve built a company rooted in integrity, driven by compliance, and inspired by the trust our clients place in us. Along the way, we’ve formed long-standing relationships with industry leaders, delivered on high-pressure shutdowns, and safely erected thousands of tons of scaffolding in some of the country’s most demanding environments.

What types of scaffolding do you provide?

We provide a full range of scaffolding solutions, including modular access scaffolds, hanging scaffolds, truss-out systems, support shoring, and engineered design scaffolds. Our services cover supply, erection, modification, and safe dismantling—tailored for both basic and highly complex industrial requirements.

Are your scaffolding systems compliant with safety regulations?

Yes. All our scaffolding solutions strictly adhere to SANS 10085, the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 2014, and relevant mine or construction site regulations. We also provide site-specific safety files, scaffold handover certificates, and install “Safe to Use” tags. Our teams are trained to perform daily PPE inspections, tool checks, and work-at-heights safety measures.

Do you offer long-term contracts or only project-based work?

We offer both. Kwena Scaffold provides short-term project-based services, as well as long-term scaffolding and insulation support contracts. Whether it's a quick shutdown or ongoing plant maintenance, our teams are equipped and certified to integrate seamlessly into your site operations.

Do you also handle industrial painting and insulation?

Absolutely. In addition to scaffolding, we offer industrial painting using certified coating systems such as StonCor, Jotun, and Denso®, including fire protection applications. We also provide thermal insulation services to protect mechanical systems, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce thermal loss in harsh industrial environments.
